Technical details

We're currently using Microcosm and Red Dwarf as an alternative to a full AppView, as we cannot afford to host petabytes of data. We're developing a new type of AppView that proxies all the important stuff to Microcosm and PDSes, so users can use the Bluesky app. We don't have a full backfill of the network yet.

When we say "Queersky", we're not talking about a subset of the Bluesky network! Instead, we're aiming to create a full duplicate of the network, just without the mapmisia and queerphobia of Bluesky's moderation. We expect Bluesky's relay and AppView to ban us, so users of Queersky can see all of the posts on both networks, but Bluesky users likely won't be able to see posts from Queersky users.

Regarding bridging, we currently don't have an ATProto/ActivityPub bridge. Instead, we're relying on Wafrn, which allows the users to see both Queersky and the Pediverse.
